Ground floor almost complete

The external walls were lowered in place by crane earlier this week. They consist of prefabricated  twin-wall panels with a breathable board outside and airtight board inside- the green walls, which will be taped and sealed and then filled with 35cm of recycled cellulose insulation when fully assembled. This type of construction, very different from traditional building, means you get a near zero energy building.

The internal walls were next- unfortunately the crane had gone by now- so they had to be manhandled in!

Today the guys from MBC, Nathan, Grant, Neil and H positioned the easi-joists- two pieces of timber with hollow webbing between allowing for services-with the steel ducting for the heat recovery ventilation system going in  at the same time. Next week we might get a roof!
