In one week these amazing guys from MBC Timber, Harry, Shaun, Brian and Tony, working from 7 till 7 every day of the week, have installed the insulation base laid on compacted stone with steel mesh and underfloor heating laid over. Eco-Concrete will be poured next week inside the base in readiness for the off-site timber frame arriving in two weeks. This design means the concrete floor is completely insulated and will act as a thermal store, cooling in the summer and warming in the winter, minimising the need for heating in this building. The building inspector had never seen this type of construction before. Its quite common elsewhere in Europe and being adopted more now in the UK- which is why these guys are working flat out at the moment!
It’s looking great Chris. Hope weather is holding out for you???
Lol … The building inspector had never seen this type of construction before. Its not only common on Eurooe, but they only build their new houses since a few years like that. The UK is u fortunately years behind when it comes to new buildings.
Air vents in double glazed windows? Only in the UK…… and the list goes on and on.
But finally we see some improvement here now
